  • Each Summer the BWP awards 20 fellowships in the teaching of writing. Teachers of all grade levels and subject areas, K-college, are invited to apply. Download application in Adobe PDF format or use electronic submission.
  • The intensive four-week seminar assists teachers in developing individual and classroom writing practices. Teachers share their writing in small groups and present aspects of composing which they view as valuable in their respective classroom contexts.

  • Participants can deepen their understanding of writing pedagogy and practice in specialized areas such as: ESL, poetry, content area writing, writing for publication, and multiculturalism.  This summer, the BWP is offering three courses, Teaching and Writing Poetry, K-12, Content Area Writing, and Teacher as Writer.  See our home page for details.
  • As part of the Graduate Certificate in the Teaching of Literacy and Writing, teams of teachers conduct inquiry based research.
